THE BOG SNORKELLERS

Cool, crisp air whistles through rustling woodland. Ripples fan out across the water of Lenches Lake. We’re in Evesham for a bog snorkellers’ training session. Julia, Neil, Lisa, Miranda, Louise and Shawn are all regulars at the bog snorkelling World Championships.

THE SURF SEEKERS

Salt-streaked cliffs rise above, fringed with windswept grass and wildflowers. Crisp autumn air carries the tang of sea spray. Waves crash noisily onto the golden expanse of Great Western Beach. THE SILENT (ISH) BOOK CLUB

It’s a rainy winter’s day in Oxford and we’re nestled inside a cosy pub. Decked out in fairisle knits, heads buried in novels, are the Silent Book Club. They’ve created a space for reading alone while being together.

We’ve sat down for a chat on introversion, book recommendations and community. And to, of course, break the silence.
